Crystal Clear Background Whitening to Remove Dull Scenes

The whole idea of having a pure white background is to remove dullness from the picture. It allows the contents of the frame to breathe. There are better ways to do background whitening.
Background whitening is done to revive dull scenes also. A keen eye will be able to decipher that white has many shades and grey is also one of them. Often photos will need to be brightened and a simple background whitewash can do the trick. Sometimes a white background is desirable as it gives a lot of breathing space to the elements in the picture. Such a canvas is ideal to display delicate jewelry products. Even a smart diamond solitaire can be made to look elegant with this photo processing. The white canvas works like a fabulous cut out and the main subject can be reused in another setting. When lots of ‘grey’ areas in the white backdrop appear they could be due to the sources of light around. The eyedropper tool is used to whiten the areas that look smudgy. Various levels are adjusted to get the right temperament to the frame. The eyedropper tool and the technique of background whitening cannot be used if the color scheme of the photo is light. Both work only if there are darker tones.

Change White Background of Pictures with Image Editing

Often a product range is shot in a studio against the white background. And then it is changed with image editing. It is done to make the pack shooter portraits more attractive later.

There are many studios where products or portraits are shot. For a proper portrait there should be a three- point lighting which uses the key light which is the main light, fill light which is placed opposite to the key light, back light which is the rim light or hair light and another fourth light which is known as the kicker that is a very small light. Other types of lights are also used to make the portrait look bright and proper focus is on the face. To create a portrait and change its background first a document of any image editing software has to be created which is to be filled with black and subsequently a new blank layer is created. The background is chosen and merged well after which various tools are used and the background is made to look perfect. Lastly the adjustment layer has to be used and the final document has to be saved. The portrait from the original document has to be selected by a Lasso tool and then dragged into the final document. This works with product pack shots also after which image editing is done.
